Parcourant un total de 3 086,7 km, elle relie notamment Matadi\u2013Kinshasa, et Kinshasa\u2013Lubumbashi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La route nationale n\u00b01 (RN1) constitue l\u2019\u00e9pine dorsale et le principal axe structurant du syst\u00e8me de transport routier en RDC. Elle permet de relier les ports de Banana et Matadi aux grandes villes de l\u2019Ouest du pays, notamment Lubumbashi au Sud jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re zambienne, sur environ 3.130 km. Elle dessert principalement les provinces ci-apr\u00e8s: Kongo Central, Kinshasa, Kwango, Kwilu, Kasa\u00ef, Kasa\u00ef Central, Kasa\u00ef Oriental, Lomami, Haut Lomami, Lualaba et le Haut Katanga qui comptent une grande partie de la population congolaise.
